Kimura's Disease

Kimura's disease is a rare, chronic inflammatory condition that mainly affects the head and neck region, especially lymph nodes and salivary glands. It often presents as painless swelling or lumps. The exact cause isn’t fully understood, but it involves an abnormal immune response, often with increased eosinophils (a type of white blood cell) and elevated blood antibody levels. While it can cause discomfort or cosmetic concerns, it is typically benign. Diagnosis involves clinical examination, blood tests, and biopsy. Treatment options include corticosteroids or surgical removal of affected tissue to reduce swelling and inflammation.
