Kidney Tuberculosis
Kidney tuberculosis is an infection caused by the bacteria that lead to tuberculosis (TB), primarily affecting the lungs but can spread to other organs, including the kidneys. When it infects the kidneys, it can cause symptoms like pain in the side or back, frequent urination, and blood in the urine. This condition may develop silently over time and can lead to kidney damage if untreated. Diagnosis typically involves urine tests, imaging, and sometimes a biopsy. Treatment usually requires a lengthy course of antibiotics. Early detection and treatment are crucial for recovery and to prevent further complications.
