Kidney Stone Disease

Kidney stone disease occurs when mineral and acid salts in the urine crystallize and form solid stones within the kidneys or urinary tract. These stones can vary in size and shape and may cause pain, blood in the urine, nausea, or difficulty urinating as they obstruct urine flow. Factors like dehydration, diet, certain medical conditions, and genetic predisposition increase the risk. While small stones may pass spontaneously with increased fluid intake, larger stones might require medical intervention such as medication or procedures to break or remove them. Proper hydration and dietary adjustments can help prevent recurrence.
