Kevlar

Kevlar is a strong and lightweight synthetic fiber known for its exceptional durability and resistance to impact and abrasion. Originally developed for tires, it gained fame in the 1970s for use in bulletproof vests and other protective gear. The structure of Kevlar consists of tightly packed molecular chains, which give it remarkable tensile strength, making it five times stronger than steel by weight. It’s also used in various applications, including aerospace, automotive, and sporting goods, due to its ability to provide protection without adding significant bulk or weight.
