Keck I

Keck I is a massive telescope located atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii, part of the Keck Observatory. It features a large primary mirror about 10 meters (33 feet) across, made of 36 smaller, precisely aligned segments. This design allows it to collect more light and see distant celestial objects with great detail. Keck I is used by astronomers worldwide to study planets, stars, galaxies, and the universe's origins. Its advanced instruments and adaptive optics help correct atmospheric disturbances, enabling sharp images and deep-space observations that deepen our understanding of the cosmos.
