Kayan
Kayan is an ethnic group primarily found in northeastern Myanmar and northern Thailand. They are renowned for their rich cultural heritage, including traditional dress, music, and crafts. One of their most distinctive features is the women wearing long brass neck rings, which elongate the neck—a practice that has become a symbol of Kayan identity and beauty. Historically, the Kayan have faced challenges such as displacement and limited resources, affecting their way of life. Despite these issues, they continue to preserve their unique customs and cultural practices, contributing to the diverse tapestry of Southeast Asian cultures.
