
Kūkai
Kūkai, also known as Kōbō-Daishi, was a Japanese Buddhist monk, scholar, and founder of the Shingon school of Buddhism in the early 9th century. He emphasized esoteric teachings, meditation, and rituals aimed at spiritual enlightenment and enlightenment of others. Kūkai also contributed to Japanese culture through calligraphy, poetry, and the construction of significant temples like Kōyasan.
