Jute production

Jute production involves planting jute plants, which are tall, grassy fibers grown in warm, humid climates. Farmers prepare the land, sow jute seeds, and care for the growing plants until they mature, usually in about 4-6 months. The plants are then harvested, and the outer bark (puchi) is separated from the inner fibers through a process called retting—soaking in water to loosen the fibers. The fibers are then dried, cleaned, and spun into threads, which are woven into jute fabric. This eco-friendly material is used for bags, sacks, and other products due to its strength and biodegradability.
