Jus Sanguinis
Jus sanguinis, or "right of blood," is a legal principle determining nationality or citizenship based on a person's parents' nationality, rather than the place of birth. This means that if a child is born to parents who are citizens of a country, the child automatically acquires that nationality, regardless of where they are born. This system contrasts with jus soli, or "right of soil," where citizenship is granted based on being born in a country's territory. Jus sanguinis is commonly used in many countries around the world, emphasizing family lineage over geographic location for citizenship.
