Jury System
The jury system is a legal process where a group of ordinary citizens, called jurors, are selected to fairly evaluate evidence and determine the facts in a court case. Typically, jurors listen to testimonies and review evidence presented by both sides, then deliberate privately to reach a verdict—guilty or not guilty in criminal trials, or liable or not liable in civil cases. The purpose of a jury is to ensure that justice reflects community values and provides an impartial judgment, serving as a check against potential judicial bias or unfairness.
