Julian Simon (economist)
Julian Simon was an American economist known for his optimistic views on population growth and resources. He argued that human innovation and ingenuity would enable us to solve problems related to resource scarcity. Contrary to the prevailing belief that more people would lead to more scarcity, Simon believed that a growing population could enhance creativity and economic progress. He is best known for his bet with biologist Paul Ehrlich, in which he wagered that the prices of specific resources would decline over time, demonstrating his faith in the ability of markets and human creativity to overcome challenges.
