
Julián Castro
Julián Castro is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who served as the Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, from 2009 to 2014. He was also the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama from 2014 to 2017. Castro is known for his focus on urban development, housing affordability, and education. In 2020, he ran for the Democratic nomination for President, advocating for progressive policies. He is the twin brother of Congressman Joaquín Castro, and both have worked to address issues affecting the Latino community and broader social justice concerns.
