Juaneno

Juaneno refers to the indigenous people also known as the Acjachemen, native to the coastal regions of Southern California, particularly around present-day Orange County and parts of Riverside and San Diego counties. Traditionally, they lived as hunter-gatherers, relying on local resources such as acorns, fish, and game. Their society was organized into small villages with rich cultural practices, including spiritual beliefs and oral history. Today, the Juaneno people work to preserve their language, heritage, and connection to their ancestral lands, often collaborating with tribes and organizations to maintain their cultural identity.
