Joint Security Area

The Joint Security Area (JSA) is a designated zone within the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) where North and South Korean forces share a common neutral ground. It is primarily used for negotiations, meetings, and diplomatic exchanges between the two countries, allowing personnel from both sides to interact directly. The area is highly monitored and secured to prevent conflicts, serving as a symbol of both tension and dialogue on the Korean Peninsula. The JSA is unique because it is the only place along the border where soldiers from North and South Korea stand face-to-face.
