John Sedgwick (General)

John Sedgwick was a Union Army general during the American Civil War, known for his leadership and strategic skills. Born in 1813, he served in various military campaigns, earning respect for his calm demeanor and commitment to his soldiers. Sedgwick played a key role in several important battles, including the Battle of Fredericksburg. He was renowned for his bravery and focus on troop welfare.
