
John of Luxembourg
John of Luxembourg (1296–1346) was the King of Bohemia and a significant figure in European history during the early 14th century. Born into a noble family, he became the King of Bohemia in 1310, known for his efforts to strengthen the kingdom and enhance its cultural stature, particularly through alliances and marriages. He was also a notable military leader, participating in various battles, including the Battle of Crécy during the Hundred Years' War, where he died. John's legacy includes his contribution to the development of a distinct Czech identity and his role in the politics of Central Europe.
