John Dee

John Dee (1527-1608) was an English mathematician, astronomer, and occultist, known for his contributions to science and his interest in alchemy and divination. A prominent figure in the court of Queen Elizabeth I, he advised on navigation and the development of the British Empire. Dee sought to communicate with angels and believed that knowledge could unlock the mysteries of the universe. He wrote extensively, including works on mathematics and astrology. Today, he is often remembered as a significant figure bridging the worlds of early science, mysticism, and imperial ambition during the Renaissance.
