Joan of Arc (symbol of female empowerment)
Joan of Arc was a French peasant girl born around 1412 who believed she was chosen by God to lead France against English occupation during the Hundred Years' War. Disguised in male military attire, she gained the confidence of Charles VII and led troops to several victories. Captured in 1430, she was tried for heresy and executed in 1431. Joan’s courage and conviction in a male-dominated society make her a powerful symbol of female empowerment, representing the ability to challenge norms, fight for beliefs, and influence history despite adversity. Today, she is celebrated as a martyr, saint, and feminist icon.
