Jiwaji Rao Scindia

Jiwaji Rao Scindia (1895–1961) was a prominent Indian ruler and the last Maharaja of the princely state of Gwalior, located in central India. He played a significant role during a transformative period in India's history, especially around the time of independence in 1947. A key figure in the integration of princely states into the Indian Union, Scindia was known for his political acumen, modernization efforts in Gwalior, and contributions to education and infrastructure. He was also active in national politics, aligning with central government initiatives, while his family continues to play a role in Indian society today.
