Jewish State
A Jewish state is a nation primarily established as a homeland for Jewish people, where Jewish culture, religion, and identity are central. Israel, founded in 1948, is the most notable example, created to provide a national homeland after centuries of persecution and diaspora. The concept reflects the idea that Jews should have a sovereign country where they can exercise self-determination, preserve their traditions, and ensure their security. While it specifically serves Jewish interests, Israel also recognizes the rights of its diverse population, including non-Jewish citizens, and operates as a democratic state with legal protections for minority groups.
