Jewish Apocrypha

Jewish Apocrypha refers to a collection of ancient writings connected to Jewish tradition that are not included in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh). These texts, such as Tobit, Judith, and Sirach, originated during the Second Temple period and offer historical, ethical, and theological insights. Although they are considered valuable for understanding Jewish history and thought, they are viewed as non-canonical by most Jewish communities. Some Christian traditions include certain Apocryphal books in their biblical canon, especially in Catholic and Orthodox Bibles, recognizing their historical and spiritual significance despite their non-canonical status.
