Jeffrey Dahmer was an American serial killer and sex offender who murdered and dismembered 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Dahmer was arrested in 1991 when a potential victim escaped and alerted police. He was later convicted and sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms in prison. Dahmer was killed by a fellow inmate in 1994.
