Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi

Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is a sacred fig tree located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is revered by Buddhists as it is believed to be a descendant of the original Bodhi tree under which Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, attained enlightenment over 2,500 years ago. The tree symbolizes wisdom and spiritual awakening. It was planted in 288 BCE and is one of the oldest living human-planted trees in the world.
