Javan Rhino

The Javan rhinoceros is a critically endangered species native to Indonesia, primarily found in Ujung Kulon National Park. It is one of the rarest large mammals on Earth, with an estimated population of fewer than 80 individuals. Distinct for its single horn and relatively smaller size compared to other rhinos, the Javan rhino has thick, fold-like skin resembling armor. It primarily feeds on leaves, shoots, and fruits. Habitat loss and poaching are major threats to its survival. Conservation efforts are focused on protecting its habitat and monitoring the remaining population to prevent extinction.
