Japanese Tsunami History

Japan has a long history of tsunamis due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire, where tectonic plates frequently collide. Notable events include the 1707 Hōei tsunami, triggered by a large earthquake, and the 2011 Tōhoku tsunami, which resulted from a massive undersea quake.
