Japanese Imperial Army
The Japanese Imperial Army was the main land-based military force of the Empire of Japan from 1871 to 1945. It was responsible for defending Japan and expanding its territory during periods of militarization, especially during World War II. The army was involved in numerous conflicts across Asia and the Pacific, often implementing aggressive military strategies. It was unified under the Imperial Japanese Army Ministry and linked to the emperor. After Japan’s defeat in 1945, the army was disbanded as part of post-war demilitarization, and Japan adopted a pacifist constitution.
