Japan Railways Group (JR Group)

The Japan Railways Group (JR Group) is a collection of seven regional railway companies that were formed in 1987 after the privatization of the national Japan National Railways (JNR). The JR Group operates most of the country’s train services, including the famous Shinkansen (bullet trains).
