Jagirnama
A Jagirnama is a formal document or deed that grants someone the authority or ownership of a jagir, which is a land or revenue estate, during the Mughal or other Indian empires. It served as proof of the jagir holder’s rights to collect revenue from the land and often included details about responsibilities and privileges. Essentially, it was an official record that recognized a noble or official’s land rights, enabling them to govern and profit from that estate while acknowledging their obligations to the crown.
