Jackie Kay

Jackie Kay is a Scottish poet and writer, born in 1961 in Edinburgh. She is known for her powerful poetry that often explores themes of identity, belonging, and the complexities of personal and cultural history. Kay, who is of mixed heritage and was adopted, addresses issues of race, gender, and the human experience in her work. She has received numerous accolades, including the Scottish Book of the Year Award and the Guardian Poetry Prize.
