József Szájer

József Szájer is a Hungarian politician and lawmaker, born in 1961, who served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2019. As a member of the conservative Fidesz party, he was influential in European and Hungarian politics, particularly on issues related to law and civil liberties. In December 2020, Szájer gained international attention when he was reportedly caught in a breach of COVID-19 restrictions during a private event in Brussels, which led to his resignation from the European Parliament.
