Jørgen Moe

Jørgen Moe was a Norwegian folklorist and author born in 1813, best known for collecting and publishing traditional Norwegian folk tales and legends. Alongside Peter Christen Asbjørnsen, he helped preserve Norway’s cultural heritage by compiling stories that reflect the country’s history and beliefs. Moe was also a politician, educator, and hymn writer, contributing to Norwegian society in multiple ways.
