IVF Medications

IVF medications are used to help a woman’s ovaries produce multiple eggs and prepare the uterus for pregnancy. They include hormones like gonadotropins (FSH and LH) to stimulate egg development, and sometimes medications like GnRH agonists or antagonists to control hormone levels. During stimulation, ultrasounds and blood tests monitor progress. Once eggs are matured, a trigger shot of hCG is given to finalize ovulation. After egg retrieval, hormonal support such as progesterone helps maintain the uterine lining, increasing the chances of successful embryo implantation. These medications require careful management to optimize outcomes and minimize side effects.
