ITCH

ITCH is a nerve-related sensation that causes a person to feel a desire to scratch a specific area of skin. It occurs when nerve fibers in the skin send signals to the brain signaling an irritation or bug presence, often triggered by factors like allergies, skin conditions, or irritants. The brain interprets these signals as an uncomfortable feeling, prompting the urge to scratch in an effort to relieve the sensation. While scratching can provide temporary relief, it may also damage the skin and worsen the irritation if prolonged.
