Italy's Autonomous Regions
Italy's Autonomous Regions are areas that have special powers and greater self-governance compared to other regions. There are five Autonomous Regions: Aosta Valley, Trentino-South Tyrol, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Sicily, and Sardinia. These regions were granted autonomy to preserve their unique languages, cultures, and traditions. They have the authority to manage certain local affairs, such as education and healthcare, independently from the national government. This arrangement allows them to address the specific needs of their populations while still being part of Italy.
