Italian Navy (Regia Marina)
The Italian Navy, known as the Regia Marina before 1946, is the naval force of Italy. Established in the late 19th century, it played significant roles in both World Wars and various international missions. The Regia Marina was known for its battleships and submarines, particularly in the Mediterranean Sea. After World War II, the navy was restructured and focused on the defense of Italy and maritime security. Today, it is involved in NATO operations, peacekeeping missions, and humanitarian efforts, ensuring national and international maritime safety and cooperation.
