Islamism

Islamism is a political ideology that seeks to shape society and government based on what adherents believe are authentic Islamic principles. It emphasizes applying Islamic law (Sharia) to politics, law, and daily life, often aiming for a society governed by religious doctrines. While many Muslims focus on personal faith, Islamism promotes the idea that Islam should also influence political structures. Not all Muslims support Islamism; some see it as a way to live their faith peacefully, while others advocate for a separation of religion and state. The term varies in meaning, from moderate efforts for reform to radical movements for change.
