Islamic Marriage
Islamic marriage, called Nikah, is a sacred contract between a man and a woman, emphasizing mutual consent, commitment, and responsibility. It is often overseen by a knowledgeable person, such as an imam, and involves the bride’s consent and a marriage gift (Mahr) from the groom to the bride. The union aims to foster love, compassion, and stability in accordance with Islamic teachings. Marriage also involves adherence to ethical guidelines, ensuring rights and responsibilities are upheld by both partners, and establishing a foundation for a moral and supportive family within the community.
