Islamic conquests
Islamic conquests were military campaigns during the 7th and 8th centuries in which Muslim armies expanded beyond the Arabian Peninsula. They quickly spread across parts of the Middle East, North Africa, and even into Spain and Central Asia. These conquests resulted in the establishment of the Islamic Caliphates, which unified diverse peoples under Islamic rule, spreading its religion, culture, and administrative systems. While driven by religious motivations, they also involved political and economic factors. The conquests significantly shaped the historical development of these regions, influencing their governance, cultural exchanges, and societies for centuries.
