Iron Triangles

An Iron Triangle is a close relationship among three groups that influence government policy: Congress members, government agencies, and special interest groups or industries. These groups work together to shape decisions that benefit their interests. Congress provides funding and legislation, agencies implement policies, and interest groups offer expertise and support. This mutual, often mutually beneficial relationship can make it harder for outside voices or alternative viewpoints to influence policy, leading to a stable but sometimes insulated decision-making process within certain sectors of government.
