Iraq Petroleum Company

The Iraq Petroleum Company (IPC) was a major oil consortium established in 1928 to explore and extract oil in Iraq. It was a collaboration among several international oil companies, including British and American firms, formed to share resources, expertise, and profits from Iraq’s vast oil reserves. The IPC played a significant role in shaping Iraq’s oil industry and economy for much of the 20th century. In the 1970s, Iraq nationalized its oil industry, ending the company's operations, and it evolved into the state-owned Iraqi National Oil Company.
