Interval Measurement

Interval measurement is a method of assessing quantities where the difference between values is meaningful, and zero is not an absence of the quantity being measured. For example, in temperature measured in Celsius, the difference between 20°C and 30°C is the same as between 70°C and 80°C—both intervals are ten units apart. However, 0°C does not mean "no temperature," as temperatures can go lower. This type of measurement allows for meaningful comparisons of differences but does not support calculations of ratios, making it distinct from other measurement types like ratio measurement.
