International Trusteeship System
The International Trusteeship System was established after World War II to help certain territories transition to independence and self-governance. Under this system, more developed nations, called "trustees," assumed responsibility for guiding and overseeing less-developed territories, ensuring they received proper administration and development support. The goal was to promote stability, economic progress, and eventual independence for these territories, often former colonies or territories under mandates. This system was managed by the United Nations and aimed to protect the interests of local populations while supporting their path toward self-rule.
