International Lacrosse Federation
The International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) was the global governing body responsible for overseeing the sport of lacrosse worldwide. It organized international competitions, set rules and standards, and promoted the growth of the game across countries. Established in 1974, the ILF worked with national lacrosse organizations to develop the sport at all levels. In 2019, it merged with the World Lacrosse organization, which now manages international lacrosse activities, including world championships and Olympic efforts. The ILF's mission was to unify and advance lacrosse globally, ensuring consistent rules and fostering international participation.
