International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO)
The International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO) was an organization that developed and promoted building codes to ensure safe, durable, and accessible construction practices across multiple regions. It aimed to create standardized regulations for building safety, including structural integrity, fire protection, and accessibility. In 2003, ICBO merged with other organizations to form the International Code Council (ICC), which now manages and updates these building codes worldwide. The ICBO’s work helped improve construction standards, protect public safety, and facilitate consistent building practices across different jurisdictions.
