Intermacs
Intermacs, or the Interagency Registry for Mechanically Assisted Circulatory Support, is a national database that collects and analyzes data on patients receiving mechanical heart support devices like ventricular assist devices (VADs). These devices help the heart pump blood in people with severe heart failure. Intermacs tracks patient outcomes, device performance, and complications to improve care, guide clinical decisions, and advance research. Its goal is to optimize treatment strategies and enhance the safety and effectiveness of mechanical circulatory support for patients with advanced heart failure.
