Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP)

Interior Gateway Protocols (IGPs) are systems used within a single organization or network to help computers and devices find the best paths to communicate with each other. They ensure data packets are routed efficiently and reliably inside the network. Examples include RIP, OSPF, and EIGRP. IGPs dynamically learn and update routes as the network changes, improving performance and fault tolerance. Think of them as the internal navigation system that keeps all parts of a network connected and functioning smoothly.
