INTERFET
INTERFET, the International Force for East Timor, was a multinational military operation established in 1999 to restore peace and stability in East Timor after violent unrest and a humanitarian crisis. It involved troops from several countries working together under Australian leadership to stop illegal activities, protect civilians, and help establish a secure environment. The mission was authorized by the United Nations and marked a successful international effort to support East Timor’s transition to independence after years of conflict.
