Intentional Tort Defenses

Intentional tort defenses are legal arguments used by defendants to avoid liability for actions that intentionally caused harm to others. Common defenses include consent, where the victim agreed to the act; self-defense, where the defendant acted to protect themselves from harm; and defense of others, where the defendant acted to protect someone else. Additionally, necessity is a defense when the action was taken to prevent a greater harm. Each of these defenses can help justify the defendant's actions, demonstrating that they were reasonable under the circumstances.
