Inferior oblique muscle
The inferior oblique muscle is one of the six muscles that control eye movement. Located on the underside of the eye, it helps rotate the eye upward and outward, and assists in maintaining proper eye alignment. This muscle is important for coordinating binocular vision, allowing both eyes to work together smoothly, such as tracking objects in the upper outer part of your visual field. Proper functioning of the inferior oblique ensures clear, single vision and helps prevent symptoms like double vision or misaligned eyes.
