Inference Engines
An inference engine is a part of artificial intelligence that helps systems make conclusions based on available information. In the context of abductive logic, it generates the best explanations for observations. For example, if you see a wet street, the inference engine might suggest that it rained, even without direct evidence. It evaluates various possibilities and selects the most plausible one based on prior knowledge. This process allows machines to reason and make intelligent decisions, similar to how humans infer conclusions from their experiences and observations.
